Автор делает краткий обзор семиотики, показывает, как исследование смыслов и контекстов можно связать с изучением денег, особенно отмечая аналогию между деньгами и языком и описывая вклад теоретиков австрийской и институционалистской традиции. С применением марксистского подхода к анализу символического значения денег показывается, как деньги становятся дискурсом власти.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article with the help of semiotic methodology considers social functions of money. The author provides a brief overview of semiotics, and shows how to establish links between inquiry into meanings and contexts and study of money, putting accent on the analogy between money and language and discussing contributions from Austrian and institutionalist traditions.
